The island jewel
Fans of the 2001 film, Captain Corelli’s Mandolin may recognise Kefalonia as the stunning backdrop. Regarded as one of the most beautiful of the Ionian Islands, the bustle, boutiques and museums of the capital, Argostoli, are juxtaposed by the hillside hiking trails, hidden tavernas, exquisite beaches and peaceful surrounds of its quieter side, just a 15-minute drive away from the airport. Explore the island via self-drive boats from Fiscardo and Assos; or take a Jeep Safari and go off the beaten track.
Explore Kefalonia

Beaches
Kefalonia is one of Greece’s beach meccas, and Myrtos Beach, which sits between two mountains, is its most famous. Picturesque, secluded & undeveloped white-sand beach surrounded by sheer limestone cliffs.

Melissani Lake
Fascinating Melissani Lake is one of the most beautiful sites on Kefalonia. Situated in a cave, it is well worth a visit. The best time to go and see Melissani is around noon when the sun stands high above the lake and the rays light up the crystal clear water making it an unreal bright turquoise. Look out for the eels!

The MARBLE ISLE
Dive into the unique ambience of Paros – an island awash with glittering bays, adrenaline-fueled watersports and a vibrant nightlife that attracts young Greeks each summer. Away from the bars and restaurants, you’ll also find rolling terrain, ancient marble mines and beautiful beaches, from where you can take a short boat ride over to Antiparos, just one nautical mile away. Paros holds a special place in our hearts as one of the most welcoming destinations in the Cyclades.

Beaches and Beach Bars
Paros is ringed by beaches – loud ones, remote ones and those characterised by tavernas or water sports. The locals are especially fond of the unnamed beaches between Kolymbithresm with its wind-sculpted rock, and Monastiri.
Beach bars in Paros have become quite popular over the recent years. Santa Maria which is on the north-east coast of the island, features some of the most popular beach bars, along with Punda beach. Right on the powdery sand, a few steps away from the crystal sea. They offer food and drinks, comfortable sunbeds and umbrellas. Party here starts during midday and usually carries on until the sun goes down…

Boat trips
The ports at Parikia, Naoussa and Aliki are springboards for ferry crossings to the island of Antiparos next to Paros, but also single-day yacht trips around the uninhabited archipelago in between the two. On a private or semi-private cruise you’ll stop at islands like Panteronisi to swim or snorkel (gear is usually provided) in the light blue water of the “Blue Lagoon”, set foot on deserted beaches and paddle into sea caves. Food and drinks are offered (souvlaki, grilled sardines, tzatziki), and you can also book a romantic dinner cruise to watch the sunset from the water to the west of Paros.

The ISLAND OF PLENTY
For those who like their escapes with a little dash of everything, let Cyprus be your guide. Beautiful beaches meet buzzing nightlife, traditional cobble-stoned villages, boat trips and more. Being situated on one of the major migration Mediterranean routes, Cyprus acts as a pit-stop for many bird species during the autumn/winter months – not least the resplendent Greater Flamingo. Take a hike to the Caledonia Falls, at an altitude of 1330m north of Pano Platres, and daydream as you watch the waterfall plunge from a height of 13m. Just be warned: a Cyprus summer can top 40 degrees – so don’t forget your SPF!

The sunshine isle
If bath-like seas, off-season heat and sheer variety are on your bucket list, the largest and most populous of the Greek Islands won’t disappoint. We love it for its fine sand, extended summers that run from April to October, and hundreds of beaches to choose from. Towards the latter end of the season, snow may even cap the distant mountains. See the Diktean Cave, dine at the local tavernas in the village of Keratokampos, and be sure to visit the island’s turtle conservation area.
