The ISLAND OF PLENTY
For those who like their escapes with a little dash of everything, let Cyprus be your guide. Beautiful beaches meet buzzing nightlife, traditional cobble-stoned villages, boat trips and more. Being situated on one of the major migration Mediterranean routes, Cyprus acts as a pit-stop for many bird species during the autumn/winter months – not least the resplendent Greater Flamingo. Take a hike to the Caledonia Falls, at an altitude of 1330m north of Pano Platres, and daydream as you watch the waterfall plunge from a height of 13m. Just be warned: a Cyprus summer can top 40 degrees – so don’t forget your SPF!

Wine Routes
The island’s longstanding tradition of wine making needs no further proof than its claim to the world’s oldest named wine still in production – that of Commandaria, proclaimed by Richard the Lionheart as the “wine of the kings and the king of the wines.” And whilst the same ancient grape varieties are still cultivated; and the same villages produce wine in the old, traditional ways, the island’s wine industry has also vastly modernised, progressed and expanded. Whether you’re a connoisseur, or a simple lover of the drink that locals once worshipped as the ‘nectar of the Gods’, you will delight in discovering a host of charming wineries and wine growing regions along seven glorious wine routes.

Beaches
Cyprus is the proud recipient of 74 Blue Flag beaches and is also crowned ‘Cleanest Bathing Waters in Europe,’ with a consistent 100% score, year after year. Embraced by the sapphire waters of the Mediterranean Sea, Cyprus is surrounded by coast, and whichever part of the sun-drenched island you may be visiting, there is always a beach nearby waiting to be discovered. The beach experience varies from coast to coast, with unique characteristics for each region, including the colour of the sands and waters; the marine life and natural significance; the organised facilities and water sports available, and the popularity – or seclusion – of the shore.
